  1. I had a 1974 Chevy Vega, loved it, every 4 years I had to replace the fenders due to rust (it was bolted so it would only take 30 minutes to do so) and every time I filled up the gas tank, I had to add a quart of oil. other than that loved my first car

  2. "Fill up the oil and check the gas. Yup, I had at least one of those. Loved them all. Not a foreign born rice grinder in the bunch.

  3. I had a 73 "Millionth" edition as my 1st car. Loved that road hugging machine. The oil consumption with mine was due to hard as rock valve seals. I put in a new reman sleeved short block and oil was still leaving at same rate. My Dad was told to check the valve seals and found them to be so hard if you hit them with a hammer, they shattered like glass! New seals and oil consumption stopped! Wish I had kept that car! Beautiful orange with \white stripe.

  5. I had a `71 GT that I ProSteeted. Had a .3o over 327 w/camel back heads, narrowed Dana 60, subbed, ladder bars, Centerlines and Nitrous. So low in front I could push a beer can laying on it's side. Loved that little car! Moved to Rapid City, SD and the police just wouldn't leave me alone. Their streets made it kinda hard to get around, too.

  6. I had a 72 Vega, it looked like a mini Camero, I loved the look. Mine was gray in color, with a black racing stripe down the front hood & the trunk lid. I paid $500.00 for it.

  7. I had a '71 Vega in 1991 that was built by George Brockman and it was white with Purple flames, Alston racing chassis, tubbed and narrowed rear end, 427 big block 2 spd powerglide with trans brake. 4 wheel wilwood disc brakes and it would run 125 mph through the 1/4 mile at 10.61 seconds consistantly. Wish I would have kept that car.
The guy I sold it to injected in with alchol and it was running in the low 9's.
