1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass - $24,500 - Chicago, IL
This is a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Clone car. Originally ordered as a Cutlass S Hardtop 350 V8 coupe, the car has been tastefully transformed into a hybrid 442 / W30 clone tribute. It sports a gold painted stripe setup with a rear decklid spoiler and W30 rally wheels. Please view all pictures carefully and be sure to watch our youtube video for the most in depth analysis and representation of the car. This is a great driver example that came out of a private collection. While we dont have much in terms of documentation we have done our best to describe the car to the best of our abilities.
Exterior:
Nice and consistent throughout. This is by no means a show car but it is an absolute head turner and shows very nicely. All the body lines are consistent and the panel fitment is nice and true. Our paint gauge detects some body filler on the right rear 1/4 panel and right front fender. The car has obviously been repainted to its current colorway and would assume that some body repairs were made prior to the respray. While we dont see any noticeable rust on the exterior of the body we do see a couple of paint blemishes in the form of dry spots and some minor paint blistering. Again we asked that you watch the video carfeully. The Wheels are in great shape as is the glass, minus a very small rock chip. All the trim is present and shows very nicely.
Interior:
The car still sports it's original gold interior which actually shows in very nice shapre. The headliner is nice and taught and the dash appears crack free. The gauges are clear and easy to read and the seatbelts are all in the car and in nice shape. The carpet has some small holes around the pedals but is overall in decent shape. The door panels are complete and all the trim is nice and present.
Underhood:
The original 350 Rocket has been replaced by a 1972 455 Rocket and is complete and in good runing order. We have not perfomred any service on the car however it runs and drives nicely as it sits. No hesitation on acceleration and it both tracks and stops nice and straight. The powersteering works well and is nice and quiet. As with any of our cars we encourage you to do your own servicing prior to driving the car on your own.
